Visiting the river Rhine
A long but very nice trip through some of the most beautiful regions of Germany to one of the most famous places in Germany: the Rhine.

After a ride through the Sauerland and the Bergische Land we arrive at the Rhine in Königswinter, which has a nice promenade on the riverside and the famous Drachenfels (hill and ruin) in the neighbourhood.

Along the Rhine we pass several other castles and nice towns before we reach Neuwied and the wonderful Wiedtal (valley of the river Wied). This valley we will follow up.

From there we will cross the Bergische Land, the Westerwald and the Siegerland again to reach the Hotel Schwermer in the evening.

With the exception of the B42 along the Rhine there are almost only lower class roads, which have all one thing in common:
curves, turns, bends, corners ....

Time is scheduled for about 7 hours without breaks. For being back to the Famous ATIC-BBQ we have to start early and make only breaks for snacks, a short sightseeing, or smoking. Restaurants with my recommendation are mentioned (for snacks only).

Please note: We drove the tour with a car and all distances are taken from its counter. Your counter may show different distances. So look also for the given signs and for our descriptions of crossings.
If you reach a crossing for which the roadbook gives no advice (especially when priority of traffic turns) please follow the main road further on.
